This Austin Healey 3000 MK III has one heck of a story to tell!! This amazing little roadster was loved and owned by just one person since new. That's right, this baby has been with her original owner for the last 52 years!!! This little sweetheart has had many adventures along the way and there is a scrapbook of pictures included that show all the different places she has been. There is even a picture of Mario Andretti sitting behind the wheel, and you will find his autograph under the trunk lid. How cool is that!! Sold new by the Imported Motor Car Co. of Montclair, NJ on Nov. 10th of 1966 for the princely sum of $3808.00, this Healey has excellent documentation, including the original bill of sale! Originally painted British racing green, this little roadster was completely restored in 2002 at which time the exterior was repainted in Ferrari Fly Yellow. The paint is in amazing condition with great shine, and a clear bra has even been added to the front lower panels to protect them from stone chips. The top is in like new condition, and the back vinyl window is crystal clear with no discoloration or scratching. Overall fit and finish is excellent and better than how it would have come from the factory. Gorgeous chrome wire wheels with classic knock of centers are wrapped in like new rubber. The inside is just as nice, with vinyl covered black bucket seats, beautiful wood trim, and excellent Smiths gauges. The original sound system has been removed, and replaced with a modern sound system. The system features a high powered amplifier and four speakers to make sure you can hear your tunes loud and clear at no matter what speed, top up or down! Under the hood is the original 3.0L inline six cylinder. This is the original engine, but has been completely rebuilt, along with the dual carburetors. It runs smooth as silk, and is very responsive to the throttle. The transmission is also the original unit, fully rebuilt, with an electronic overdrive for low rpm freeway cruising. The rear axle is also original to the car, but has been rebuilt. Even the driveshaft, brake drums, and tires have been individually balanced to make this car a smooth riding long distance cruiser. If you're in the market for a classic British roadster with an excellent provenance, you cannot do better than this one!! Email Brian@Burnyzz.com or stop into our showroom today!!
