The fourth generation Camaro was introduced for the 1993 model year. Wearing sleek new styling and with the powerful LT1 V-8 borrowed from the Corvette, the new Camaro was an instant hit. Performance was much improved over the previous generation, and most everyone was satisfied with the overall package. However, Chevrolet realized that there was a select few customers who wanted to race their Camaros on the weekends, or in the SCCA Showroom stock class. For this group of select hardcore enthusiasts, Chevrolet created the 1LE package. The 1LE package created a no frills, hardcore performance street/track car. Chevrolet produced only 135 1LE cars for the 1994 model year, and all were devoid of any power options, air conditioning, cruise control, T-tops, and fog lamps. This was meant to create the lightest possible car to improve handling. In this same vein, Chevrolet gave the 1LE larger diameter front and rear stabilizer bars, specially valved "deCarbon" shock absorbers, stiffer bushings, and fat Goodyear Eagle GS-C high performance summer only tires. A heavy duty cooling system was installed with special baffling in the radiator to keep the car cool when pulling track day duty. As the 1LE was meant only for the Camaro enthusiast, it was only available with the renowned Borg Warner T-56 6-speed manual transmission. This smooth shifting, heavy duty transmission had excellent gear spacing to keep the powerful LT1 in it's power band at any speed. And what a power house it was. With 275hp, and 325 lb. ft. of torque, the LT1 pulled this lightest Z28 around a track with ease, and could run all the way up to a 154mph top speed. The torque curve comes in early and low in the RPM band, and will break the rear end loose with ease. This 1LE Camaro has only 14,422 miles since new. It is as close as you are likely to find to a brand new 94' Z28. It runs and drives as new, without any squeaks or rattles, and appears as new. It is a true one owner car, with the actual title issued July of 1994. The documentation is all complete, with the factory order sheet from Cecil Clark Chevrolet, the window sticker, the factory sales brochure, and all maintenance records since new. The factory front licence plate bracket is still in the back hatch, and the owners manual is in the glove box. This is the chance to own a super rare, extremely low mileage, high performance street/track muscle car.
